On Wednesday, January 11th, the 7-0 Bluevale Knights were taking on the 4-3 Huron Heights Huskies at Moses Springer with the Huskies looking to spoil Bluevales undefeated season.
The Huskies would start the game the right way, with Abigail Tape finding the loose puck in front and she would poke it home to give Huron the early 1-0 lead.
Later in the period Bluevale would get a power play. On the power play, Maryn Broderick would take a slapshot from the point and it beats Summer Lafosse to tie the game at 1.
Both teams had a lot of chances but nobody could beat a goalie until Bluevale Knights captain Avery Morton shoots one by the goalie and gives Bluevale the 2-1 lead after the first period.
Just 15 seconds into the second period, Maryn Broderick skates into the offensive zone and shoots from the left circle, beating Summer Lafosse short side to make it 3-1 Bluevale.
Just a minute later, Sami Snyder shoots from the left circle and scores glove side. 2 quick goals by bluevale makes it a 4-1 game.
Not long after that, Sami Snyder would shoot top shelf to get her second goal of the game. It’s 5-1.
Later in the period, Maryn Broderick would shoot from the left circle again, and roofs it, making it 6-1 with a hat trick goal.
Late in the second period, Abigail Tape makes a great move by the right board and cuts in but gets stopped. She gets her own rebound and scores her second of the game. It’s 6-2 after two periods.
The third period scoring would open up with a slapshot by Maryn Broderick for her 4th of the game, making it 7-2 for the Knights.
Later in the third period, Emma Thornton skates in the offensive zone and shoots one past Ryan Coffin. The Huskies captain makes it 7-3.
Thornton would get a last second chance but her shot was stopped, making it a 7-3 victory for the Bluevale Knights.
Bluevale continues their undefeated season as they improve to 8-0, tied with Elmira for first place, while Huron Heights falls to 4-4 on the season.
